10. Being a leader is difficult and stressful, but so worth it.
11. When it comes to painting your walls, choose white/neutral colours to allow room for colorful accents.
12. Take inspiration and aspire to be inspiration.
13. Everybody's life works in their own time clock, don't compare your pace with others.
14. To-do lists are a must to stay organized.
15. But no matter how much you try to stay organized, creative bursts of energy come from cluttered desks.
16. Do not cram all projects in one night and don't pair 2 cups of coffee with it to avoid tears and palpitations.
17. Lastly, Don't stop until you're proud of what you've become.

As the year is fresh, my goal for 2017 is for it to be a year of the hustle and self-love. I decided to set my resolution as something realistic because let's face it, I'll never get to hit the gym on a daily basis.  I feel as if change for the new year doesn't have to be drastic, so I have created a little list that I'm following throughout the year, and you can too! This post isn't intended for your canvas to be cleared out, but for you to hopefully join me in getting my ducks in a row. 

What are your New Year's resolutions?

'Tis the season to be jolly *fa la la la la la la la la*! December is my favourite month of all time and I am still overwhelmed by how quickly the year has gone. But nevertheless, Christmas is here! It's a time of happiness & sharing the love, and I think that it makes this gloomy & crappy weather fascinating. Whilst listening to my Christmas playlist (that has been on repeat since the beginning of November), I decided to create a wish list. I haven't done a blog post about wish lists in the past and I thought that it would be fun to share my list with you. Also, this post isn't necessarily things that I want from people, but things that hopefully will find its way to me very soon. I hope that my list inspires you to create your own.

And that is it. Obviously, I have more but they're a bunch of cheesy stuff. Also, I'm hoping that this new template isn't too tacky. I mayyyy have gone overboard with the Christmas colours, but I promise that they'd be back to the norms once the holidays are over.

Today, I will be tackling a topic that most people ask me about: Why are you a pescetarian and how do you do it? This month last year, I made a massive change in my diet. I chose to become a pescetarian! If you don't know what a pescetarian is, kindly click here.

In this post, I'll go over what I eat on a regular basis, how I manage in school, "help! my parents wouldn't allow that kind of lifestyle.", and why changing my diet has been the best choice EVER. Also, I'll be talking about why I'm pescetarian when what I really want is to become a vegan.

Why did I go pesco-vegetarian?

I grew up loving animals, I still do. It was around this time last year that I clicked on a viral video from Facebook showing a hundred of dogs whipped, boiled, and fried alive in front of their own species for a dog meat festival in Yulin. It disappointed me so much. I was disappointed on the people who participated in the festival and it was unquestionably messed up. And then it came to my mind, why do I care so much about these dogs? Why do these people eat them? I cared about these dogs because I've grown up with people telling me that dogs are pets, but these people see them as food. In India, cows are sacred. They would never think about eating a cow, and yet there I was with my gourmet burger. The night I started  questioning these cultures and my diet, I felt like a complete hypocrite. "Why is this animal more special than this one?", "Why am I eating these animals specifically?" . So the next day I cut out red meat from my life, and then I realised that I wasn't much of a fan of chicken, so I cut that out as well. I was left with seafood and the usual vegetarian staples. For now, I can't go vegan as much as I would like it because I still live with my parents (who happen to run a fish business). The bottom line is this: I felt like a hypocrite, I still am because I still consume fish, dairy and eggs, but I am on my way there. I've made this change to support animal rights, to serve the environment, and to inspire other people to see the bigger picture.

What I eat normally.

I cook a lot of my own meals and I think that's a positive thing about being in control of your diet; you actually start cooking and experimenting! It makes you step out of the iceberg lettuce. My menu includes:

Breakfast - rolled oats with almond milk & fruit, breakfast smoothie, wholewheat pancakes, baked avocados, and more vegetarian (vegan without egg bc I hate cow's milk) recipes.

What helped me in becoming pescetarian and drives me to becoming vegan?

If you're interested in helping the planet instead of million dollar-making farm factories, I highly suggest you view documentaries about slaughter houses and where your food comes from. It's quite graphic and it might disgust you, but it is the truth. It is not make belief, that smiling pig on the packaging of your 'bacon' is the definition of make belief. To help you understand more, here are the videos and lectures that got me started:

As much as possible, I try to pack my own lunches. Most of my packed lunches are vegan because it is easier. Once in awhile, I'll pop out a can of tuna, but that's my last resort. Pinterest has amazing quick and easy recipes to follow, so I always make sure to stock up on ingredients. The school cafeteria does serve fish and vegetables and I do purchase my food from there when I don't have time to prep. However, I'm much more comfortable knowing that I cooked my own dish because I'm actually fully aware about the ingredients and cooking process.

"Help! my parents won't allow me."

The best thing about being a pescetarian is that you can still ensure your parents that you still have protein through your seafood and beans and legumes. You don't really need fish as a protein especially when you've stocked up on superfoods, but you have to show your parents that it's a process. Tell them about the benefits of the lifestyle and how determined you are. Teach them about how it can not only benefit your health, but the planet as well. I grew up in a meat-loving family, but that didn't stop me. You can suggest to cut out red meat first (pork & beef) and then work your way to cutting chicken, and then fish eventually! 

I hope you watch the videos above and research more about the food you are taking. I am fully aware that eggs and dairy are disgusting, but it's a process. Do consider to be the change this world needs :-)

I have been living the past couple of days without a phone. As I cheered for my team during sportsfest, a little somebody decided to pick my phone up and left everybody else's. I know right, crisis and you're probably wondering as to why I am quite light-hearted about it. But don't get me wrong, I was devastated considering that I only got hold of my rose gold iPhone for about three months. If you know me personally, I always had my phone on my hand or in my pocket at least. I took photographs with it daily to continue my photo diary; I shot videos of travels; I jotted down every idea that popped in my head, but now it's all gone. There's no way to track it and it's currently under investigation thanks to Neil (hi, neil). At first, it's as if I lost every memory and I did not know what to do, and then I looked at promising hand. Without my phone, I can make full use of my camera and Polaroid. That continues on to better content for my blog. And Instagram and Snapchat? who needs to know about what I am doing every minute of the day? Maybe this is a good thing.

But wait, what in the world should I be doing without a phone whilst waiting awkwardly or what can I fidget with when a random stranger approaches me or how can I conveniently list things down? Simple, keep it old school. Basically, here's what I have been bringing around lately.

1. A small notepad / Planner

lists.lists.lists. That's what I am made up of and it keeps my creative energy flowing. As much as I hate to admit, I've got my entire future listed down in bullet-form and the fact that I no longer have my phone takes me twice as long to record a thought. However, manually writing lists aids my memory. This planner is from Moleskine and I'm not quite sure if I've shown this to you before.

2. A novel or anything to read

If you're an introvert like I am or you generally just dislike approaching strangers, here's something to keep you entertained. Now, you're probably thinking that it's such a boring source of entertainment, but really nothing else can suck you into a different universe. This book that I am currently reading is Hello, Goodbye, and Everything in Between by Jennifer E. Smith and I've been loving it a lot so far. Again, credits to Neil.

3. Camera

I've been shooting better quality photographs now. I always used to depend on my handy-dandy iPhone's quality and although those pixels are great, nothing can beat a good lens. On the downside, you can't take as much photos, but quality over quantity right?

I kind of expected this to be longer, but turns out that it's pretty simple. Without my phone, I am more productive and determined in learning about God and life. I'm a little bit better than before.

Hello, friends. Long time no post, but TADA! I'm here with my January favorites! January has been a very welcoming month and I know that it isn't the end of the month yet, but why the heck not. Here is a compilation of my favorite products and stuff that basically made up my January so far.

Starting off with beauty products, I have been absolutely crazy over these Lush scrubs. I've picked them up near an MTR station in Hong Kong because unfortunately, they don't have Lush in where I live and that sucks big time. The bigger pot is the Rub Rub Rub shower scrub and boy let me tell you, it is dreamy. It is blue and smells of mimosa and oranges. I've been treating myself with this scrub every time I felt like rewarding myself. I personally like my scrubs rough. However, this sea salt scrub can be used as a shower gel as well, if you like things subtle. The little tub on the right is a classic lip scrub. I have created a blog post on how to recreate the vanilla kind, but I had to get the Mint Julips mainly because you couldn't really get peppermint extract conveniently. Lush's products are vegan, too! s c o r e.

The next product(s) is a makeup brush set from a brand called Suesh. I've never heard of it before and yet here I am using them everyday of this month. I believe it's a local brand. They do create amazing brushes though. Never underestimate local products! I ordered mine from Zalora (I've been ordering way too much stuff from there to be honest). The set consists of an eyebrow brush + comb, a small spongy brush for corners, a powder brush, an eye shadow brush, and an angled one all in one glitter pouch. These brushes were made with vegan-friendly materials according to the description. Again, s c o r e.

The last two for my beauty favorites are drugstore products. They are the Revlon Skinny Liquid Liner and this Matte Lippie from Happy Skin. I've been giving myself a cat eye a lot recently. I've recently discovered that they make my eyes a whole lot more moody and they do make me seem older (which I like pls don't hate I look twelve ok). This skinny-tipped one is great for rookies & newbies like myself. On the left is the Matte Lippie that comes in the shade Best Date Ever. I am fully aware of the fact that it is slowly transitioning into the spring time and so I should be transitioning into brighter colors rather than this dark plumy shade. But hey, it's too good. I've been embracing it while I still have time.

POINTED SHOES ARE LIFE. I've finally stepped out of my comfort zone AKA sneakers and loafers and tried out some pointy flats. They are actually no-brainers and I've collected two so far, I will link the one above right here  and unfortunately, the black pair I own is out of stock. Both are from Zalora because their items are all so pretty.
